PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team won its fourth straight match as the Cardinals took down the Highlanders of Houghton College, 7-2. Fisher jumped to an undefeated 4-0 on the season and moved to 2-0 in the Empire 8 Conference. With the loss the Highlanders fell to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
The Cardinals cruised through doubles as Fisher swept all three matches. Kaili Saffran and Cassidy Bell kept their first doubles win streak alive and took down their opponents, 8-4.
Caroline Seaberg and Mikayla Santulli followed up that performance in second doubles with an 8-1 victory, before Jacqueline Chouinard and Grace Peter grabbed the third doubles win with a final score of 8-4.
The Cardinals then took four of six singles matches on the evening after Saffran started it off with a first singles sweep with scores of 6-3 and 6-2.
After dropping second and third singles, Santulli took down her opponent in fourth singles, 6-0 and 6-1. Amanda Thongsirimonghoun tallied the fifth singles win in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-0 before Zuzanna Pociecha rounded out the day with the sixth singles victory.
The Cardinals look to keep their win streak alive as Fisher is slated to play at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 22nd against the Sage Colleges in Empire 8 play.
