PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College Department of Athletics continues to be at the forefront in its mission to provide its fan base, alumni, parents and supporters with the latest and greatest tools to follow the Cardinals as the department is proud to announce the release of its mobile app in the App Store and on Google Play.

The app, which was developed by Sidearm Sports, is free and will appear as "SJFC Athletics" in both stores.  SJFC Athletics will enable fans to follow their favorite Fisher teams and student-athletes from anywhere with the click of a button. 

"With the launch of our mobile app, we have further separated Fisher from many other Division III institutions," said Sean Farnsworth '05 who has served as the department's athletics communications coordinator since 2017. "SJFC Athletics gives us a platform to keep our fan base heavily engaged as more people turn to their mobile devices to receive information."

Many of the great features from Fisher's current athletics website will be made portable including rosters, schedules and more. Within each schedule, fans will be able to access links for live stats and live video all in a one-stop-shop.

Additionally, the latest highlights, hype videos, social media content and more can be found throughout the app as SJFC Athletics has made it easy to keep up with anything and everything Cardinals related.

Perhaps one of the more engaging features is the ability to sign up for notifications.  Did you miss the final score or a time change?  With push notifications, you can stay up-to-date as the app will alert your phone of final scores, game starts and other important information so you don't miss a beat.  Within each team's roster, you can see up-to-date statistics, bios and more.  Within each student-athlete's page, you can select the star icon and get notified of news pertaining to that specific person.

To customize your experience and follow specific teams, follow the instructions outlined below:
1. Go to either the Google Play Story or the Apple App Store
2. Search for "SJFC Athletics" or "SJFC Cardinals", find the app and download
3. At the bottom of the app, go to "You" icon
7. At the top, choose a way to sign-in
8. If you sign in with email, at the bottom of the next page it says "Create an Account", click this link
9. Fill in your email, name and password to customize your app for the sports you want to follow
10. Once registered, select the sports you wish to follow with the green plus button
11. To adjust which notifications you get for each of your sports, click the green bell with the "3/3" and adjust to your preferences
