Women's Tennis Takes The Win On The Road At Elmira

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team defeated Elmira College 8-1 in its second Empire 8 Conference matchup. Fisher now stands 3-0 with a 2-0 conference record, while Elmira falls to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in Empire 8 play.

The Cardinals dropped the first match of the day in first singles, before going on to defeat the Soaring Eagles in straight sets in each of the following match ups. Taylor Slink started off the wins, taking second doubles 6-1 and 6-2. Sarah Sorrentino, Cassidy Bell and Caroline Seaberg followed that up with wins of their own.

Bell and Kaili Saffran defeated their opponents 8-5 in first doubles. Slink and Amanda Pendergast followed suit, taking second doubles 8-6. Sorrentino and Seaberg finished the doubles sweep with another 8-6 victory in third doubles.

Fisher returns home to play at 9 a.m. on Sunday against the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks.
