PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team picked up its fifth win of the season, defeating Hartwick College, 7-2. Fisher now advances to 3-1 in the Empire 8 Conference, while moving to 5-1 overall. Hartwick falls to 2-3 in the conference, while sitting at 4-4 overall.
In first singles Kaili Saffran dropped her first set, then recovered and took the next two sets, 6-0 and 6-2. After dropping the next two matches, Cassidy Bell, Amanda Pendergast and Caroline Seaberg took the next three matchups in straight sets.
In doubles, it was all Cardinals. Saffran and Bell took first doubles, 8-4. Pendergast and Taylor Slink defeated their opponents in second doubles, 8-5, while Seaberg and Sarah Sorrentino won third doubles, 8-2.
The Cardinals return to the court at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday as they travel to Utica College in its second Empire 8 pairing of the week.
