Women's Tennis Drops First Match Against Stevens

PITTSFORD, N.Y. - The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team dropped its first decision today against Stevens Institute of Technology, 7-2. The Cardinals fall to 3-1, while posting a 2-1 Empire 8 record in its first four matches. With the win, Stevens advances to 2-1 overall and in Empire 8 play.

Kaili Saffran took the only win for Fisher in first singles defeating her opponent in straight sets, 7-6 and 6-0. Amanda Pendergast put up a fight in fifth singles, battling her opponent but was defeated 6-4, 7-6.

Sarah Sorrentino and Caroline Seaberg took the lone win in doubles matches on the day, defeating their opponents 8-3 in third doubles.

The Cardinals take a bit of a break, but return to the court at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 22nd at Pittsford Racquet Club against the State University of New York at Cortland Red Dragons.
