The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team won its first match of the 2016 season, as the Cardinals (1-0) came through with a 5-4 win over host SUNY College at Brockport on Friday afternoon.
Sophomore
Caroline Seaberg earned the decisive point with a 6-2, 6-3 win at sixth singles.
Teammate
Amanda Pendergast won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles and joined Seaberg for an 8-1 win at third doubles.
Freshman
Taylor Slink won her first match at the collegiate level with a 6-2, 6-0 win at third singles.
Senior
Olivia Rotondo and
Katey Padden prevailed at second doubles, collecting an 8-5 win.
Fisher returns to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday and will host Houghton College at Mendon Racquet Club.
