St. John Fisher College women's soccer shutout host Bryn Mawr College in a 2-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Cardinals improve to 2-0 overall, while the Owls fall to 0-2.
The game went scoreless through the first half, but the Cardinals rallied early in the second half with an unassisted goal by junior
Nicolette Nigro in the 47
th minute.
The second and final goal for the Cardinals came in the 62
nd minute by
Molly Beaton, with assists from
Carly Finn and
Taryn Guinta.
Goalkeeper
Gabriella Cotugno started in goal for the first 77 minutes before
Sarah O'Brien came in for the remainder of the game. Cutongno made two saves in the contest and is now 2-0 on the season.
The Cardinals return to action at 1 p.m. on Sunday when they take on host Swarthmore College.
