Women's Soccer Pushes Winning Streak To Eight With 3-1 Win Over Rival Nazareth

PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The St. John Fisher University Women's soccer team won its eighth consecutive match on Saturday afternoon at Growney Stadium, downing rival Nazareth 3-1. All alone atop the Empire 8 Conference standings, the Cardinals improved to 11-1 overall and 7-0 in league action.

How It Happened

Fisher displayed early aggressiveness that paid off as junior forward Emily Woolingham opened the scoring just 3:43 into the first half, with assists from senior midfielder Francesca Logrippo and sophomore defender Carolyn Rowe. The Cardinals extended their lead in the 38th minute when freshman forward Molly Simmons found the back of the net off another assist from Logrippo.

Despite being outshot 7-3 by Nazareth in the first half, Fisher held the Golden Flyer offense at bay as sophomore goalkeeper Isabella Ayers logged four saves to help Fisher carry a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Fisher continued its momentum early in the second half, as junior forward Olivia Kalil extended the Cardinals' lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 48th minute. Nazareth got on the board in the 60th minute, getting on the scoreboard following a Fisher own goal to cut its deficit to 3-1.

Fisher was slightly outshot 4-3 in the second half but held off the late push from the Golden Flyers, as Ayers added on three more saves to secure the 3-1 victory.

Game Notes

  • Fisher has now beaten Nazareth three consecutive matches. This marks Fisher's longest winning streak against Nazareth.

  • Woolingham scored her team-leading 10th goal of 2026 after recording 11 in 2025. She is the first Fisher player since Stephanie Long (1993 and 1994) to have 10 goals or more in consecutive seasons.
