The St. John Fisher College baseball program dropped a 10-3 decision to Rochester Institute of Technology on Monday at Houghton College's Kerr-Pegula Complex.
With the loss, Fisher falls to 4-8 overall, while the Tigers improve to 4-0.
Errors plagued the Cardinals early on, as the Tigers scored four in the first and four in the second inning to take a 8-0 lead. All eight runs were unearned, as the Cardinals committed two errors in each of the two frames.
Trailing 9-0, Fisher got on the board in the sixth, as
Frank Carnevale singled in
Shane Barley and
Malcolm Kelsey.
In the eighth, freshman
Tyler Troccia singled, stole second, advanced to third and scored on a sacrifice fly from
Calvin Woolhiser.
Barley led Fisher will two hits.
Sophomore
Marc Iseneker was tagged with the loss. He allowed nine hits and no earned runs over five innings, while striking out three.
Fisher returns to action this weekend. The Cardinals will play two games at Haverford College on Saturday and a doubleheader on Sunday at University of Mount Union.
