The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team was shut out by host Elmira College 1-0 in an Empire 8 Conference matchup on Saturday.

The lone goal of the game came from Elmira in the 38th minute when a long cross into the box resulted in a loose ball that was taken advantage of by the Soaring Eagles.

The score would remain at 1-0 for the remainder of the game.

Fisher and Elmira rivaled in shots, with the Soaring Eagles outshooting the Cardinals only 11-9.

Freshman goalkeeper Joseph Catalfamo registered a total of 71 saves in 14 starts in his first season as a Cardinal.

The Cardinals closed out their 2015 season with a record of 3-13 overall, and 2-5 in the Empire 8 Conference.
