BOX SCOREThe St. John Fisher College field hockey team scored two goals in the second half to break a 1-1 tie and rallied to beat host SUNY Brockport 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, Fisher improves to 2-1 overall.
Elizabeth Cusack scored her first of two goals on the day off a pass from
Alexandrea Malley to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead in the game's seventh minute. Brockport, however, answered right back and the two teams entered halftime tied at 1s.
Cusack scored the game-winning goal just over 10 minutes into the second half with freshman
Emily Markarian picking up the assist. Markarian added an insurance goal with just under 10 minutes left in the game with
Stacie Skidmore assisting on the play.
Danielle Famolaro earned the win in goal for Fisher, registering six saves.
Fisher ended the contest with a 23-10 advantage in shots and had a 5-2 edge in penalty corners.
Fisher returns to action at 7 p.m. on Friday under the lights of Growney Stadium against SUNY Cortland.
