RESULTS

The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team was edged out by Houghton College 5-4 in an Empire 8 Conference match on Saturday.
 
Three Fisher players won their singles matches. Alissa Cornacchia defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-3 at fourth singles. Teagan Zingg defeated Lisa Jones in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 13-11 at fifth singles. Eileen Fleming rounded out the singles victories at sixth singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win.
 
The third doubles team of Zingg and Claire Herrman also defeated Houghton in an 8-2 win.
 
Fisher falls to 1-4 in conference play and 1-6 overall. The Cardinals take on Alfred University at 4 p.m. Wednesday to make-up the postponement earlier this season.
