The St. John Fisher Cardinals fell 1-0 to visiting Houghton College as the Highlanders scored the only goal of the game in the middle of the second half. Fisher falls to 2-7-1 overall and 1-1 in Empire 8 conference play while Houghton improves to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

The Highlanders came out strong in the first half, outshooting the Cardinals 10-1. Danny Yancone tallied the only shot in the half, but it was blocked by Houghton.

Houghton pulled ahead in the 60th minute when Jared Toth headed in a corner kick from Tyler Inch.

Josh Klein made five saves in net for the Cardinals.

Fisher returns to action Saturday when they travel to Alfred to take on the Saxons at 7 p.m. in an Empire 8 conference matchup.
