The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team dropped an Empire 8 contest on Saturday against host Alfred University.

In the 1-0 loss, the Cardinals outshot the Saxons 8-6 with only three shots on goal apiece.

Alfred scored the lone goal near the end of the first half when Fisher goalkeeper Josh Klein knocked down a shot but Nicholas Milliman found the back of the net on the rebound.

The Cardinals put up a fight through the end with Jake Gentile, Chris Ferrara and Matt Silvi taking close shots in the second half.

Fisher, who falls to 2-8-1 and 1-2 in conference play, returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday against host Alfred State College.
