Men's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Tie vs Keuka

BOX SCORE

The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team created opportunities but could not convert any chances, earning a 0-0 draw against the Keuka Storm Wednesday night at Growney Stadium.

Fisher set the tone in the first half of the game outshooting the Storm 11-2.  Junior Matt Silvi had the best opportunity running down the right flank and firing a shot to the near post that was pushed aside by goalkeeper Preston Vick.

Early in the second half Danny Yancone nearly broke the tie, heading a long ball from Josh Tomko off the crossbar in the 55th minute.

In the first overtime frame, Victorin Kothor provided Keuka with a scare five minutes in rifling a shot from outside the 18-yard box that sent the Kueka goalkeeper diving to his left to make the save.  Vick finished with 15 saves as Fisher outshot Keuka 29-7.

With the tie Fisher improves to 2-3-1 on the season while Kueka moves to 2-1-1.

Fisher is back in action at 1 p.m. Saturday when they travel to Ithaca College to open up Empire 8 Conference play.
