BOX SCORE
Visiting Nazareth College scored the game's only goal midway through the first half to earn a 1-0 win over host St. John Fisher College in an Empire 8 Conference men's soccer matchup on Saturday at Fisher's Growney Stadium.
With the win, Nazareth moves to 5-8 overall and 2-2 in the Empire 8, while Fisher falls to 4-7-2, 2-3.
Prior to the start of the game, the College honored its 10 graduating seniors, who were playing in their final home game.
Fisher controlled the tempo early on, registering four shots on goal in the first 10 minutes. Nazareth, however, took the lead for good in the 31st minute with a shot hitting off the bottom-half of the crossbar and into the back of the net on the right side.
The Cardinals, who out-shot Nazareth 18-10 for the game, including 7-2 in the second half, had their chances throughout the contest, but weren't able to capitalize.
Kyle Metcalfe played all 90 minutes in goal for Fisher and finished with five saves.
Fisher returns to action on Wednesday at Rochester Institute of Technology.
