Box Score
The St. John Fisher College field hockey team saw a three-game winning streak come to a halt with a 2-0 loss to St. Lawrence University on Tuesday evening. Fisher, who has already doubled its win total from last season, falls to 4-6 on the season. The win was just the second of the season for the Saints, improving them to 2-6.
St. Lawrence scored both its goals in the first half, with the eventual game-winner coming from Grace O'Neil at the 7:50 mark. O'Neil was able to knock the ball past
Danielle Famolaro off an assist from Emma Berry to put the home team up 1-0.
Berry assisted on the second goal as well, as she found Ali Ferenczy open on a penalty corner.
That score would hold for the next 55 minutes, with neither team scoring in the second half.
Fisher outshot St. Lawrence 27-21, but Saints goaltender Brady Cooper came up with 17 saves for her first shutout of the year. Famolaro made eight stops in the cage for Fisher.
Marissa Vedella led the Cardinals with seven shots, while
Stacie Skidmore posted six.
Fisher will return to action at 11 a.m. on Saturday when it travels to face the Hartwick College Hawks.
