The St. John Fisher College baseball team fell behind 7-1 and
suffered a 9-6 loss to visiting College at Brockport on Wednesday afternoon at Fisher's Dugan Yard. With the loss, Fisher falls to 10-4, while Brockport moves to 11-5.
Brockport never trailed in the game, scoring three in the top of the first and tacked on three more in the fourth. The Cardinals scored four runs in the fifth to get back in the game, but never was able to take the lead.
Fisher threatened in the bottom of the ninth and sent the tying run to the plate with one out and runners on the corners, but couldn't complete the comeback.
Steve Karnyski went 2-for-4 with runs and two stolen bases.
Peter Krysztof went 3-for-4 at the plate, while
Matt Klock and
Brad Rush each had multi-hit games.
Fisher will return to action at 3 p.m. on Friday and will host Cazenovia.
