Field Hockey Overpowered by Stevens

Vedella scored her third goal of the season in New Jersey on Saturday.

The St. John Fisher College field hockey team took a 7-1 loss against Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ on Saturday afternoon. With the loss Fisher falls to 1-6 on the season and 0-2 in the Empire 8 Conference in its first year in program history.

Marissa Vedella scored her third goal of the season in the 53rd minute to avoid the shutout, cutting the Ducks lead to 6-1. Fisher goalie Kellie Redmond was shot at 30 times, 16 of those were on goal and she finished with seven saves.

Fisher will return to action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday night when it hosts St. Lawrence at Growney Stadium.
