Men's Soccer Shut Out At No. 10 Hobart

The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team gave up one goal in both the first and second half and suffered a 2-0 loss at Hobart College on Tuesday in a non-conference match.  With the loss, Fisher falls to 1-4 on the year, while Hobart, ranked 10th nationally, improves to 5-0.

The Statesmen took the lead for good in the 23th minute.  Fisher nearly tied the game in closing moments of the first half, but Stefan John's shot clanked off the crossbar with 12 seconds remaining.

Hobart tacked on an insurance goal early in the second half and kept the Cardinals scoreless for the remainder of the game.

Hobart finished the game with a 17-11 advantage in shots. Fisher goalie Kyle Metcalfe stopped three shots over 56 minutes, while Brendan Kazmierski ended the game in net and made two saves.

Fisher will return to action on Saturday at Ithaca College in the Empire 8 Conference season-opener for both teams.
