The St. John Fisher College baseball team
suffered a 10-5 loss to Augustana College on Friday in Winter Haven, Fla. It was Fisher's last game at the Russmatt Invitational.
Fisher (3-4) trailed 4-0 after three innings, but scored two in the top of the fourth.
Ben Ward scored on an RBI-single from
Steve Karnyski, while Peter Krystztof walked with the bases loaded.
Augustana led 5-3 after five innings, but took control of the game with four runs (three unearned) in the sixth.
The Cardinals scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning on a two-run double from
Brad Rush.
Chris Roeder went 3-for-3 for Fisher, while
Leo Fusilli and Karnyski each finished the game with two hits.
Freshman pitcher
Justin D'Amato went four innings and was charged with the loss, dropping his record to 1-1 on the year.
Fisher will return to action next Saturday at Frostburg State University.
