The St. John Fisher College baseball team scored eight runs during a two-out rally in the second inning to take an 8-0 lead and never looked back, as the Cardinals collected a 12-7 win over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday in Winter Haven, Fla.
With the win, the nationally-ranked Cardinals improve to 3-2.
Freshman Chris Roeder hit a three-run homer to start the rally.
As a team, Fisher finished with 16 hits and eight stole bases.
Sophomore Ben Bostick went 4-for-4 with two RBI. Roeder also singled and scored two runs, while Leo Fusilli went 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
Ben Ward finished 2-for-5 with two RBI.
Adam Pettinella bounced back from Tuesday's rough outing to earning the win. Pettinella, who allowed seven runs in the first inning yesterday, worked 5.1 innings to pick up his first win of the season.
