The St. John Fisher College Cardinals
worked to a 1-1 knot after two overtimes against the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons in the first round of the University of Rochester's Flower City Classic this afternoon.
Sean Fishel put in a header off a loose ball to put the Cardinals on the board just six minutes into play. The lead would hold for the rest of the half.
The Red Dragons capitalized on a corner kick to tie it up in the 68th minute. Dan Josepher took a header off the corner to put it past Fisher goalkeeper
Robert Weigand.
Despite two overtime periods, neither team could take the lead.
Weigand played the entire 120 minutes between the pipes, recording five saves. Oneonta's Maxwell Siegelman tallied three saves.
Fisher returns to action at the Classic tomorrow evening, when the Cardinals take on Adrian College at 7 p.m.
