Baseball Improves to 27-11 With Win At Medaille

The St. John Fisher College baseball team overcame an early 2-1 deficit and scored 15 of the game's final 16 runs, and rallied past host Medaille College on Tuesday. With the win, Fisher improves to 27-11 overall and will close out the 2010 regular season with a doubleheader against visiting Ithaca College at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. If Fisher wins one of its two games against the Bombers, the Cardinals will be crowned Empire 8 champions.

 
Fisher, who trailed 2-1 after four innings, scored six runs in the fifth and five in the seventh frame to pull away.
 

Brandon Lewis pitched five effective innings. The senior struck out seven and allowed two runs to earn the win.

Steve Karnyski and Ben Bostick each enjoyed four-hit days. Karyski went 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Bostick scored a season–high four runs.
 

Kevin Wing went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored.

 Phil Pettinella picked up three hits, including a triple. He also scored and drove in two runs.
 
Jon Gibbs drove in three runs, giving him 48 on the year, tying the single-season record at the College.
 
Matt Klock also knocked in three runs.
