Matt Guinto scored late in the first half and
Luke Lennox scored late in the second half
as St. John Fisher College defeated SUNY Oswego, 2-0, in the Flower City Men's Soccer Classic at Edwin Fauver Stadium.
The win was the first of the season for the Cardinals (1-1-1) while Oswego fell to 0-3. In Saturday's first round, Fisher tied SUNY Cortland, 1-1, in double overtime. Oswego lost, 2-0, to host Rochester. Final standings will not be determined until after Rochester plays Cortland, scheduled for a 3 pm kickoff.
Giunto smashed a free kick into the Oswego net at 36:49, right after Ryan Aman of the Lakers was yellow-carded for a foul just outside the top of the penalty arc.
Lennox insured the victory at 88:37 when he scored on a breakaway. He cut into the box, swept to his right to avoid the advancing Matt Wopperer (who charged out of the Oswego goal), and rolled the ball into the open net.

Adam Durst stopped three shots for Fisher. The Cardinals held a 14-12 advantage in shots.
