The St. John Fisher College baseball team scored nine runs, but it wasn't enough, as Fisher lost its season opener to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 17-9 on Saturday in Lakeland, Fla. Jason Nevada and Leo Fusilli both went 2-for-5 with a single, a double and a run scored.

Fisher will return to action on Sunday and will face Baldwin-Wallace College.
