Runs Keep Coming For Fisher Baseball In Win over NJCU

With four hits on Wednesday, Jon Gibbs raised his batting average from .167 to .353.
The St. John Fisher College baseball team scored six runs in the fourth inning and picked up a 10-7 win over New Jersey City University on Wednesday.  The Cardinals, who have scored at least eight runs in each game this year, led 10-1 after five innings, but needed a solid performance from pitcher Andy Van Slyke to preserve the win.

Jon Gibbs went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored to lead the Cardinals (2-3).  Phil Pettinella added three hits and two runs scored.  Freshman pitcher Jeremy Willard allowed four runs on nine hits over seven innings to earn his first career win.

Fisher will face St. Joseph's College at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
