The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team was defeated by host Stevens Institute of Technology 8-1 on Sunday in an Empire 8 Conference contest.

Laura Hale recorded the Cardinals' only point of the contest with a straight sets win (6-4, 6-0) at first singles.

Fisher (1-2 overall, 0-1 Empire 8) will return to action at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday to take on visiting Rochester Institute of Technology.
