The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team defeated host SUNY Oswego 6-3 on Thursday in the Cardinals' first match of the 2008 season.  Seniors Lauren Jones and Katie Neubeck combined for an 8-3 win at second doubles and each earned a point with a victory at third and fourth singles, respectively.

Sophomore Katelyn Smith and Roseann Fisher won 8-3 at third doubles, while Smith won 6-3, 6-1 at fifth singles.  Junior Katie Barlow also earned a point for the Cardinals (1-0) with an 6-2, 6-2 win at second singles.

Fisher will return to action on Sunday at Stevens Institute of Technology.
