The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team battled Ithaca College for 110 minutes on Sunday at Fisher's Growney Stadium, but neither team could net the game-winner as the
contest ended in a scoreless tie, setting the Cardinals record at 4-7-2 overall, 2-2-1 in the Empire 8.
Fisher's best chance to score came in the 109
th minute, when senior forward
Brad Ervin received a cross from
Ryan Todd just five yards from the goal. Ervin got a quick strike on the ball, but an Ithaca defender blocked the would-be goal out of bounds.
Throughout regulation, and into each of the 10-minute overtime periods, each squad pushed forward on several occasions, but key defensive stops halted a number of chances to score.
Adam Durst made a game-high five saves in the contest.
Fisher will host Rochester Institute of Technology at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
