Men's Soccer Battles Bombers to Scoreless Tie

The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team battled Ithaca College for 110 minutes on Sunday at Fisher's Growney Stadium, but neither team could net the game-winner as the contest ended in a scoreless tie, setting the Cardinals record at 4-7-2 overall, 2-2-1 in the Empire 8.

Fisher's best chance to score came in the 109th minute, when senior forward Brad Ervin received a cross from Ryan Todd just five yards from the goal. Ervin got a quick strike on the ball, but an Ithaca defender blocked the would-be goal out of bounds.

Throughout regulation, and into each of the 10-minute overtime periods, each squad pushed forward on several occasions, but key defensive stops halted a number of chances to score. Adam Durst made a game-high five saves in the contest.

Fisher will host Rochester Institute of Technology at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
