St. John Fisher University Athletics

Demarre Nelson (East Rochester/East Rochester) of the St. John Fisher College football team has been named the College's Male Athlete of the Week after he played a significant role in helping lead the Cardinals to a 28-14 win over Alfred University on Saturday.

As a team, Fisher accounted for four interceptions with Nelson having two of his own.  In the second quarter, the East Rochester native took an INT 25 yards for a pick six before adding another interception late in the fourth quarter to all but seal the win.

Nelson also made four tackles and broke up a pass as Fisher limited Alfred to just four completions on the day.
