St. John Fisher University Athletics

Ashley Maynard of the St. John Fisher College field hockey team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 1^st, 2017.

The junior goalkeeper continued her strong play between the pipes for the Cardinals posting two shut out victories to help the Cardinals win streak extend to nine games.

Maynard stopped the one shot that came her way in the 6-0 conference victory over Nazareth. She then followed that up with a 3-0 win over New Paltz and posted a season-high 10 saves to improve her overall record on the season to 9-1.

The Cardinals will be back in action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday under the lights of Growney Stadium as they host the University of Rochester for a non-conference battle.
