Will Coon of the football team has been named the St. John Fisher College Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on October 30th, 2016.

Coon recorded his third 100-plus yard game this season, helping the Cardinals earn a 34-17 win over the Ithaca College Bombers on Saturday.

The sophomore out of Marcellus, NY played a big role in the Fisher passing offense, hauling in four catches for a team-high 101 yards. Perhaps the biggest play was a 73-yard bomb that Coon caught in the middle of the field that went for a touchdown, putting the Cardinals up 27-17 early in the final quarter.

At 6’3 and 190 pounds, Coon currently leads the team in total receiving yards (667) and is second in receiving touchdowns (5). His 23.8 yards-per-catch is also second in the Empire 8 conference and is the seventh most in all of Division III.

Fisher returns to the field at 12 p.m. on Saturday as the team hosts Hartwick College for the home regular season finale. Last season, the Cardinals defeated the Hawks by a touchdown (41-34) in Oneonta, NY.
