PITTSFORD, N.Y., April 6, 2015 – St. John Fisher College’s Brandon Fuentes (Avon/Avon) of the men’s track and field team has been named as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 5, 2015.

Fuentes highlighted the field events over the weekend at the Colonial Relays that featured 2,100 athletes from 62 universities (Division I, II and III) and 36 high schools.

The junior shattered the previous school record in the triple jump of 12.71 meters with a mark of 13.62 meters to earn a third-place finish. That jump also qualifies him for the ECAC Championship later this season.

Fuentes also competed in the University heat in the long jump and finished in 15th place at 6.49 meters, good for a NYSCTC A Standard.

Fisher returns to action on Saturday for the ROC City Track & Field Classic at Nazareth College.
