PITTSFORD, N.Y., February 16, 2015 — St. John Fisher College’s Morgan Mastin (Wayland-Cohocton/Springwater) of the women’s track and field team has been named as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 15.

The senior helped the Cardinals place second overall at the Empire 8 Indoor Championship on Saturday at Houghton College. Fisher, with 74 points, recorded its best finish in the history of the four-year program.

Mastin set a new school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.00 seconds to earn eight points at the championship and a spot at next month’s ECAC Championship. She just missed the Fisher record in the 200-meter dash by .05 seconds, where she placed third for six points.

The sprinter also competed in the 4x400 relay with teammates Chelsea Grupp, Jess Colmerauer and Sydney Saccone, where they placed second overall, good for eight points.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday at the College at Brockport’s Golden Eagle Invite.
