Chris Blyth (Pittsford Mendon/Pittsford) of the nationally-ranked men’s golf team has been selected as the St. John Fisher College Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 5, 2014.

Fisher shot 581 to claim its ninth straight ECAC Championship on Sunday at Blue Heron Hill Country Club. The No. 12 Cardinals tallied 292 on Saturday and 289 on Sunday to finish 38 strokes ahead of runner-up New York University.

Blyth was the championship’s medalist, shooting 71 in each round for a total of 142. The senior finished four strokes ahead of teammates Corey Haas and Hogan Cuny, who tied for second overall.

Fisher concludes its fall season on Sunday at the Golfweek's Division III Fall Invitational at Raven Course in Sandestin, Fla.
