St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College’s Caroline Trpcevski (Manlius/Fayetteville-Manlius) of the women’s lacrosse team has been named as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 16, 2014. 

The Cardinals continued their strong start to the season with a 2-0 week to remain undefeated through five games. Trpcevski played a key role in net for each of the team’s wins this past week.

On Friday, No. 13 Fisher traveled to face the previously-undefeated No. 15 SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons, leaving with an 11-6 victory. Trpcevski made five big saves between the pipes for the Cardinals in the win.

It was much of the same on Saturday when Fisher returned home to take on the visiting Buffalo State Bengals, earning a 16-5 victory. Trpcevski recorded four saves and allowed only three goals in 43 minutes in goal to earn the win. She also scooped up two ground balls.

Fisher will next put its unblemished 5-0 record on the line and look to remain undefeated on Saturday when they open Empire 8 Conference play at Ithaca with a 1 p.m. start.
