St. John Fisher University Athletics

McKenzie Bezon (Elba/Elba) of the St. John Fisher College women’s basketball team has been selected as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 5, 2014.

Bezon continued her stellar rookie season, guiding the Cardinals to a 1-1 week.
Fisher, who had not played a game since December 7, knocked off Houghton College 69-54 on Friday night.  Bezon led Fisher with eight rebounds and also poured in four points and two steals.

The freshman led Fisher on Saturday with seven assists in a 61-59 loss to Elmira College.  Bezon also added four points, five rebounds and three steals.

The Cardinals sit at 7-4 overall and 0-1 in the Empire 8 Conference.

Fisher will be back on the hardwood at 8 p.m. Friday for its home-opener against Hartwick College.
