St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College’s Elizabeth Cusack (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) of the field hockey team has been named as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 20, 2013.

Cusack helped Fisher to a 2-0 week with wins of Nazareth College and Hartwick College.  With the Cardinals’ 1-0 win over Hartwick on Saturday, the program set a new single season record for wins in a season with eight.

The sophomore had the game-winning goal in the 56^th minute in a 1-0 defeat of Hartwick College on Saturday.

Cusack also had a goal in Fisher’s 4-1 victory over East Avenue rival Nazareth College on Wednesday.

Cusack leads the team this season in goals with seven and is second on the team in points with 15 this season.

The Cardinals will return to action at 5 p.m. this Saturday when they will travel to Ithaca College.
