St. John Fisher College has selected Mason Judd (Palmyra-Macedon/Macedon) of the nationally-ranked football team as the College's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 8, 2013.
In the first game of the year, Judd led the Fisher defense in the Cardinals' 28-0 win at Otterbein University on Saturday. The win marked the first time since 2006 the Cardinals have opened the season with a shutout.
The senior defensive lineman racked up a team-high 10 tackles and was credited with one sack, giving him 11 for his career.
As a team, Fisher allowed just 145 yards of total offense, including just 14 yards on the ground on 30 attempts.
The Cardinals, who moved up from  No. 24 to No. 19 in the d3football.com poll, return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday and will host Washington & Jefferson College in their 2013 home opener.
