PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's ice hockey team has added Jayden Kelley as an assistant coach, head coach Scott McDonald announced.

"Jayden Kelley brings an outstanding combination of playing experience, hockey knowledge, and coaching expertise to our program. Having competed at both SUNY Cortland and Oswego State, Coach Kelley understands what it takes to compete at a high level and has experienced firsthand the commitment, discipline, and culture required to succeed in college hockey. Coach Kelley had a tremendous impact behind the bench and built an impressive coaching background at Gilmour Academy. Her experience developing players, teaching the game, and helping athletes reach their potential will be an incredible addition to our staff and program. Adding a coach with this level of playing experience, coaching knowledge, and passion for player development is another exciting step forward for our program. Coach Kelley will bring tremendous energy, experience, and a fresh perspective to our team, while helping us continue to raise the standard both on and off the ice," McDonald said.

Kelley joins the Cardinals after serving as an assistant coach for the girls' ice hockey program at Gilmour Academy. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, she worked as a physical education teacher and dorm proctor. Kelley helped coach the 19U girls prep team, assisting with practice planning, skill development, pre-scouting, film analysis, and recruiting. 

"I'm so excited for the opportunity to join St. John Fisher women's hockey team and be a part of a growing program with lots of potential. I can't wait to meet the players and get started. Go Cardinals!" said Kelley.

Before beginning her coaching career, Kelley played women's ice hockey and soccer at SUNY Cortland, where she earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2022. She went on to earn a master's degree in community health from Cortland in 2024.

Kelley continued her academic and athletic career at SUNY Oswego in 2025, playing women's ice hockey while earning a graduate certificate in health and wellness.
