PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Three St. John Fisher University student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Empire 8 Conference, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. 

FIELD HOCKEY

Morgan Parrinello (Jr., GK) – Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week

Parrinello made 11 saves and allowed just two goals as St. John Fisher beat Morrisville and Allegheny last week. She made three saves in a 7-2 win over Morrisville on Wednesday and eight saves while recording her second shutout of the season in a 4-0 victory over Allegheny on Sunday. 

WOMEN'S GOLF

Hailey Baughan (Fr.) – Empire 8 Player of the Week

Baughan and Nazareth's Emily Mayer tied for first place at nine-over-par 81 on Saturday as St. John Fisher, Nazareth and Geneseo competed in a one-round tournament at the Caledonia Country Club. The Cardinals finished +56 (344 strokes), beating Nazareth (+83, 371) by 27 strokes and Geneseo (+97, 385) by 41 strokes.  

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Lydia Fraser (Jr., OH) – Empire 8 Player of the Week

Fraser led the Cardinals to a 3-0 weekend in the Skidmore Tournament, slamming 40 kills while hitting .263, to go with five service aces and two total blocks on her way to 46 points. On Friday, Fraser had 11 kills and hit .346 as Fisher took down Skidmore in four sets. The following day, the Cardinals swept Middlebury 3-0 and edged Williams in five sets. Fraser had 10 kills and two aces against Middlebury and a career-high 19 kills and three service aces for 22 points against Williams, which had been receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 poll.
