PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher University's student-athletes once again teamed up to earn high marks for their success in the classroom as the Empire 8 Conference announced its spring academic honors on Tuesday.
The Cardinals placed a conference-high 275 student-athletes on the Empire 8 President's List for this past semester and had 26 teams earn All-Academic Team honors, tied with Nazareth for the top mark in the conference. St. John Fisher also led the E8 in the fall with 307 E8 President's List honorees and 25 All-Academic teams.
E8 student-athletes must achieve at least a 3.75 grade-point average to earn a spot on the President's List. A total of 1,716 student-athletes from the league's membership met that standard in the spring semester.
A league-record 208 teams were recognized as Empire 8 All-Academic Teams for posting a team grade point average of 3.2 or higher this spring.
