PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's lacrosse team has climbed into the top-10 of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Top 20 Poll for the first time since 2022.
The Cardinals, 12-1 overall and 5-0 in the Empire 8 Conference, enter this week ranked No. 9. After opening the season receiving votes, the Cardinals have steadily risen, as they entered the top 20 in February and inched closer to the top 10 over the last month.
Fisher stands among nine teams in the country with one loss or fewer. Its lone loss came to No. 13 RIT, 17-12, back on March 18 at Growney Stadium. The Cardinals have wins over No. 19 St. Lawrence and SUNY Cortland, which has been receiving votes in the USILA Top 20.
Including regular-season and playoffs, the Cardinals have won 51 consecutive games against Empire 8 Conference teams since the end of the 2019 season. They have won six consecutive conference championships.
Winners of their last six games, the Cardinals face SUNY Brockport at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in Brockport, N.Y. They play rival Nazareth at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Golden Flyers' NLPA Field.
