MARIETTA, Ohio – The St. John Fisher women's rowing team took to the Muskingum River for its first competition of the spring season on Saturday against Marietta College.
How It Happened
The Cardinals' lineup included Tenley Radogna (one seat), Yan Huang (two seat), Coral Brown (three seat), Adalee DiMarco (four seat), Lily Burke (five seat), Izzy Haney (six seat), Rhea Malmquist (seven seat), Anna Foe (eight seat) and Ana Foe (coxswain).
Fisher hung with Marietta for the first quarter of the race before slowly falling behind. The Cardinals rowed to a time of 5:43.36, while the Pioneers finished in 6:14.42.
"We are grateful to Marietta for hosting us. This marked our first time on the water since our spring break trip, since our home river conditions have been unprovable due to the weather," coach Jonathan Covney said. "With only a week of water time a month ago, our freshmen stayed poised and got valuable racing experience as we get into our championship races later in the spring."
Up Next
The Cardinals will compete in the New York State Collegiate Rowing Championships next Saturday, April 18, in Saratoga Springs.
