PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's and women's track and field teams will have several athletes competing in the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships on Friday and Saturday at The Armory in New York City.
What's At Stake: The top eight finishers in each event will earn All-AARTFC honors. The top 20 athletes in each event and the top 12 groups in each relay event throughout the entire season qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Regional results do not guarantee national qualification.
Cardinals In The National Rankings (Men): Trystan Biller (No. 36, 60-meter hurdles), Hayden Penna (No. 8, pole vault), Oren Welch (No. 40, pole vault) and Brandon Kaplan (No. 9, weight throw).

Top Returning Performers At Regionals: Penna (4th place, pole vault), Kaplan (4th place, weight throw)

Kaplan shattered school and meet records in the weight throw with a mark of 19.16 meters to claim his second straight E8 Indoor title in the event last weekend.

Biller claimed his first E8 Indoor title with a personal-best time of 8.23 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles last weekend. His time marked the third-fastest in the event in program history.

Men's track and field junior Jace Stuart broke his school record in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:39.39 in the E8 Indoor Championships.

Penna recorded a mark of 4.92 meters, a meet record, to claim the E8 indoor pole vault title for the third consecutive year last weekend. Penna has recorded four marks of 4.90 meters or better this season.

Penna bested his school record in the pole vault for the fourth time this season in the Nazareth Conference Tune Up on Feb. 20. He placed second at 5.02 meters, the eighth-best mark in Division III this season.

McGuinness set the women's program's indoor shot put record with her Empire 8-championship winning mark of 13.41 meters last weekend. It was her second straight E8 indoor championship.

Women's track and field freshman Caelyn Eiser placed fourth in the pentathlon in the E8 Indoor Championships with a score of 2,871, the top indoor mark in Fisher history. She placed first in the shot put (10.86 meters), fourth in the high jump (1.43 meters), fourth in the long jump (4.92 meters) and fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.65 seconds).

Keough set the women's program's record in the triple jump in the Nazareth Conference Tune-Up on Feb. 20 with a mark of 11.33 meters. She recorded the fourth-best 60-meter hurdles time (9.46s) in program history in the Ithaca meet and the fifth-best long jump mark (5.34m) in program history in the Utica Invite last month.

Women's track and field sophomore Abigail Dorunda cracked Fisher's indoor top five lists in the 60-meter run, the 200-meter run, the 300-meter run and the 400-meter run during the regular season. Her 25.60 time in the 200-meter run, recorded in the Boston University meet on Feb. 14, was a tenth of a second shy of Zhane Lettsome's school record (25.59).

The Cardinals' qualifiers will compete in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, March 13-14, in Birmingham, Alabama.
