Women's Ice Hockey Falls To Morrisville

FAIRPORT, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville used three unanswered goals to defeat the St. John Fisher women's ice hockey team on Friday evening at the Rochester Ice Center. The Cardinals dropped to 4-7-1 with the loss, and Morrsiville improved to 2-11-0 with the victory, its first since Nov. 22.

How it Happened

The Cardinals opened the scoring about seven minutes in as Sienna Chin Gerding connected with Nicole Doeringer, who fired a shot past the Mustang goaltender for her first goal since Nov. 15.

The Mustangs evened the score just under two minutes later, though, as Scarlett Smith found the back of the net. Later in the period, they took the lead on an Amelia Lomas goal and added another in the second period when Smith netted her second tally of the contest. Both of Morrisville's last two goals came on power-play opportunities.

The Cardinals finished 0-for-9 on power-play chances.
