ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's rowing team opened its spring season on Sunday against RIT and Nazareth on the Genesee River.
"Overall, the weather held off, and it was a great day to meet up and race with our neighbors on the Genesee River," head coach Jonathan Covney said. "All of our crews were able to learn from their race outcomes and are excited to officially kick off racing season."

The Cardinals' varsity four of Samantha Macko (coxswain), Grace Corbin (stroke), Rhea Malmquist (3 seat), Gabrielle Boling (2 seat) and Anna Foe (bow) recorded the fastest time in the first round of racing (8:27.8). RIT placed second (8:38), while Nazareth came in third (8:47).

Macko (coxswain), Corbin (stroke), Malmquist (3 seat), Samantha Ross (2 seat) and Foe (bow) placed second in the second varsity four race. The group recorded a time of 9:17.2.

The Cardinals' novice team of Anna Winters (coxswain), Tenley Rodogna (stroke), Coral Brown (3 seat), Lizzie Shaffer (2 seat) and Catie Kieran (bow).
