Kaplan Places Fourth At AARTFC Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. – St. John Fisher men's track and field junior Brandon Kaplan's performance in the weight throw highlighted the second day of the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships for the Cardinals at Ithaca College's Glazer Arena. 

The Cardinals placed 22nd as a team, amassing 10 points over the two-day meet. 

Kaplan placed fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 17.17m to secure a spot on the podium. He has placed in the top four in 10 indoor meets this season. 

Kaplan was one of two podium finishers for the Cardinals' men's team. Sophomore Hayden Penna took fourth place in the pole vault on Friday night. 

Other Top Meet Highlights 

  • Sophomore Nathan Canale set a personal best in the 800m run (1:58.83). That time marked the fourth-best 800 time in school history. 

Up Next

The Cardinals' qualifiers will compete in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships next weekend at Nazareth University.
