ROME, N.Y. – Freshman Emma Sweazy placed first, and juniors Sarah Burgess and Ava Malvaso tied for second to lead St. John Fisher to a dominant win in the 2025 Empire 8 Women's Golf Tournament at the Teugega Country Club.
The Cardinals carded a 348 on Sunday and a 344 on Monday to finish the two-day tournament at +120 (692 strokes). They finished 61 strokes ahead of second-place Nazareth.
Sweazy, who carded a 163 (+20) over the two rounds, carded a nine-over 80 on Sunday and an 11-over 83 on Monday. She made one birdie in the first round and two in the second.
Burgess and Malvaso finished six strokes behind Sweazy at +26 (169 strokes). Burgess shot an 87 on Sunday and an 82 on Monday, while Malvaso carded an 83 and an 86, respectively.
The tournament victory marked the Cardinals' third this fall.
